Is gifted with a modest talent for psychometry, the sensing of the history, characters and events connected with a particular inanimate object through touch. He can 'read' inorganic objects much more easily than organic ones.

He mainly uses his Jedi powers and extreme sensitivity to stone and structures to manipulate the surrounding environment to his advantage. Through the Force he can sense the inner form, strengths and weaknesses of the most complicated buildings, structures or even machines. He's excellent with a lightsaber, but is more of a contemplative type who's very in touch with the Unifying Force but not so great with the Living Force.

Kyoshi was born on an isolated mining colony on one of the larger Hoth asteroids. At a very young age, his parents discovered that he had an ability to sense patterns and variations in the hard stone of the asteroids. This lead them to considerable profits. However, after both his parents were killed in a rather suspicious mine shaft collapse, he was enslaved by the mining colony's ruthless owner who used the young boy's powers to his own advantage. Kyoshi was liberated by a Jedi Knight who sensed the young boy's power and was taken to the Calus Jedi Temple for proper training. He discovered his senshi calling during his final Trial for Knighthood. He met Rána Starwind while at the Calus Temple, but neither one knows about the other's planetary powers.

He is confused about his senshi calling as it is so different from the Jedi training in the Force that is such an integral part of his life. He is also uncomfortable with the mostly offensive nature of his senshi powers.
