Gannix was born Hafiraja Masaad on Kiffu, the illegitimate son of a Clanlord's daughter and an unknown Kiffar man, though he was raised as a true son of the clan, he fell into - or rather, relentlessly pursued - a life of dishonesty and crime. He has spent much of his adult life attempting to convince other people that they want to give him whatever he wants, most commonly money or women. His methods vary from piracy, running complex cons, gambling and just about any endeavor he can come up with.

Frequently assisted by his partner Maluta Naari and their ship, the Lucky Strike, Gannix has managed to insert himself into dozens of identities and has, across the galaxy, an almost record number of 'fiancees', though he has never actually tallied them, as he can never be sure when they cease to call themselves that - being as he generally never contacts them again, after making off with their honor and any easily moved valuables they may have left laying about in obvious places - such as the bottom of a locked safe in a concrete bunker.

He is compulsively charming and prides himself on his ability to talk his way out of almost any situation. Whether through his wit, false intimidation or simply distracting an opponent until Naari can shoot him, he generally manages to wiggle out of trouble without much permanent damage to his person, or his ship. The title of Senshi was previously worn by his twin sister Hinna, Sailor Kiffu, who was killed in the course of her duties. Gannix takes up her mantle reluctantly at best, joining in the fight only because he finds the senshi beneficial in his own work.
