During a mission as a Padawan, Kyoshi was gifted with a nifty little rock carving of a coiled up spined snake. It sat for years on a shelf in his room at the Calus Temple. When Kyoshi returned from his final Knighthood Trial where he discovered he was a senshi, the carving came to life. The snake is a guide and advisor to Kyoshi, travelling with him in a belt pouch or coiled up around his neck. He talks to Kyoshi via mind to mind but can speak Basic if he pleases. Sarn is much much smaller than the real spined snake at only a half a meter long. When 'alive' he retains some of the venomous nature of his real world counterpart, a very strong bite considering his diminutive size, and a taste for sweets. When he turns back into a carving, he has all the attributes of a lightweight unbreakable rock.

Erenda is the Queen of Naboo. She was elected to the position in -5 BSF. (Before, she served as the Princess of New Otoh Gunga, from -9 BSF to -5 BSF.) Many of her policies -- namely, expansion of the Naboo Security Forces and full desegregation of Human and Gungan institutions -- are seen as very controversial and make her a frequent target of Nabooian and Gungan "purists" alike. Erenda grew up in a primarily Gungan village on Ohma-D'un, and she is called The Gungan Queen. She is fierce, assertive, and a champion of equality and diversity.
Queen Erenda is served by four handmaidens (in addition to Ilié):
Alimé, her alternate decoy and the assistant commander of the queen's security;
Mordé, a young member of the aristocracy who advises the queen on etiquette;

Pearl was Race Edinn's first love. (Accounts among adults at the workhouse varied as to whether they were related by blood or not; however, this is likely untrue.) Pearl, Race, and several other younglings plotted for a year and a half to escape the workhouse. Pearl and Race were seen as the leaders of the plot.
She died after falling ill with a simple childhood illness, several weeks before their scheduled escape. She was withheld the medicine to treat the condition after she was appraised to be worth less in credits than the cost of the medicine. Soon after, Race and the remaining younglings escaped to freedom.
Pearl was known to be wise beyond her years. Her memory still has a huge effect on Race, more than twenty years later.
