The Joys of Training
Written by Sailor Bothawui
*The idea is to dodge the attack, not jump in front of it.*
Sailor Bothawui rubbed her hit shoulder. *I did dodge it! How was I supposed to know it would follow my movements?*
*You're supposed to keep every possibility in mind. And you call yourself a bounty hunter,* the voice mused.
Bothawui heavily sighed, *I am a bounty hunter. But that stuff makes sense, this senshi stuff doesn't. It's like it has its own laws.*
The voice laughed. *You got it!*
*Oh, that's just wonderful.* She rolled her blue eyes.
*Hey! What do you think you're doing?* Sora asked the now untransformed girl.
*I'm calling it a day, besides,* Inga pointed to her console, *Someone wants to talk to me.*
"Really, Mom, I'm fine," the Bothan smiled at the screen.
"Are you sure? You didn't change, get hurt, or anything?" The face on the screen showed worry.
"What?" Inga's eyebrow raised.
"Ya, you know, I felt..." she hesitated a moment before continuing.
The multi-colored haired girl rested her face on her paw. "Spit it out Mother."
"Remember when you were young and I showed you the datapad of the past senshi?" Inga's mother looked up at the screen and into her daughter's face. Inga nodded, thinking back to that peaceful day, and smirked. Her mother sighed. "I knew you would be the next one."
"And why didn't you try to get it through to me better that I would be the next one? Or even kept reminding me as I was growing up?" she laughed, "I'm getting bruises all over from training."
Miade Nyx'ka laughed back. "That wouldn't of helped you anyway. You wouldn't of wanted to train for something that wouldn't help you."
"True. But I'm learning now. Sora My'ka is teaching me." When she spoke the name, she saw her mother's face light up.
"She was one of the best protectors, she lived quite a while too." Her mother became somewhat distant as she remembered back to the days with Sora.
Inga nodded. "Well I better go. Gotta go beat up bad guys." She laughed and winked at her mother.
"Don't die too soon. I'll be sure to tell the clan that you have been honored." She bowed to her daughter and the screen fizzled to a blank.
The Bothan leaned back in her comfortable chair. "Being honored, yet dishonoring. What a spot I'm in."
*I will too learn!* Sailor Bothawui placed her paws on her hips. *I wish I could see you so I could stick my tongue out at you.*
*All the more reason to keep hidden.*
*Now that's not fair!* the Bothan slunk to the grass covered ground and sat cross-legged.
*And what do you think you're doing?* the voice accused.
*Baking cookies. What else does it look like I'm doing?*
Sailor Bothawui crossed her arms over her chest and stayed sitting. A blue translucent figure slowly took shape behind the furred girl. The shade was dressed like present Sailor Bothawui, with some minor changes. The blue girl had a choker and more of a sailor collar with a small bow on her chest. Her black tinted hair lightly brushed her shoulders and blue eyes looked mischievously onto the sitting senshi. She stretched out her right paw in front of her and gave the disobedient girl an unpleasant shock. She smirked when the present senshi yelped in surprise.
*Why did you do that?!* The shocked girl spun around and looked up to the blue ghost. "It's about time. I was tied of mind-speaking."
"I did that because you need to pay attention and start taking this training more seriously. You will need it." The shade crossed her arms over her chest.
The multi-colored haired girl closed her eyes, "I might take it more seriously if I know that I will use it."
"We have only covered part of your training. You still need to find your attacks and/or defenses," Sora pointed out.
Present Bothawui stood up and looked into the eyes of past Bothawui. "How do I figure that out?"
"I can't really help you with that one. It comes from here." She solemnly spoke as she placed her paws on her chest, near her heart.
The furred girl looked at the blue shade, she looked so serene; her eyes closed and her hair slightly moved with an unseen draft. It made her close her eyes and rest her paws near her heart.
She tried to concentrate as the background noise grew louder. She threw up her paws to cover her ears, the noise was so intense, it was like she was in the middle of an overcrowded bar that was open to the sounds of heavy Coruscant traffic.
She crumpled to the ground as the noise pounded into her head.
"Stop it! It's... the noise... it's... too much..."
Sora hung back and sedately watched. There wasn't anything she could do; it was all up to Inga.
Inga clinched her eyes shut and yelled, "Bothawui, grant me silence!"
All went deathly quiet. Inga looked up from where she was kneeling and first looked up to Sora then to the rest of her surroundings. Once there were sounds from the various wildlife and natural sounds, now there was nothing.
She looked back up to Sora and noticed her mouth was moving, but nothing was coming out. Sora noticed it as well, so she mind-spoke to Inga. *Sounds like you took the noise out of the world. Now, figure out how to put it back.*
*Maybe I like the silence.* She thought for a minute then shook her head. *It's not right for a world to be noiseless.*
Sora nodded her head and thought to herself that the new senshi was finally learning, and added a 'took her long enough.'
Sailor Bothawui again closed her eyes as she brought up her light brown paws near her long ears. She thought and mouthed, *Bothawui, enough silence.*
All at once, the noise flooded back and reached the girls ears. Sora smiled.
"Music to my ears."
"I didn't like the start of that, but it was easy." The girl rubbed her ears.
"It's not always going to be easy." The blue shade told the senshi.
She nodded her head and eagerly asked, "How many powers do I have?"
"Power hungry, eh?" the past senshi raised an eyebrow.
Inga put her paws on her hips. "No, I just want to know so I can find them all."
Sora rolled her eyes and sighed. "I don't know how many powers you have, and besides, you can't find them all in one sitting."
The furred girl pouted, "That stinks."
"That's enough for today." The blue figure rolled her eyes once again as she faded away.
"You better not go far!" the now untransformed Bothan yelled at the retreating girl.
*I'm not! And don't yell at me!*
Inga Nyx'ka walked onto her ship and to her small bedroom. She plopped onto her bed and closed her eyes. She finally had a moment to rest and was going to enjoy it.
*No bounties, no training, nothing,* the Bothan sighed happily.
She let herself drift of to a well deserved sleep.
